What Do Cub
Scouts DO?
The Cub Scout program gives the children opportunities to try new activities, such as:
Camping
Hiking
Building a Pinewood Derby race car
Creating art and music
Designing their own game
Meeting new friends
Helping the community
Learning survival techniques
And so much more!
Cub Scouts have fun
Cub Scouts giggle. A lot. The one thing you can be sure to see at just about any Cub Scout meeting you go to is kids having fun.
Cub Scouts is like a big magic trick. A good magician shows you what he wants you to see while hiding what they're actually doing from view. This is how a magician makes the quarter appear behind your ear.
The kids See the fun. They see the games. They see the pinewood derby cars, the rockets, the hikes, the camping, and the other activities. What they don't realize until later is what they were actually learning: Character. Citizenship. Fitness. Self-Confidence. Empathy. Leadership. Reverance. Which is all apart of the Scout Law that they will learn.
To them they just think they're having fun. But to the parents, they are learning so much more!
Character
Development
A Cub Scout will learn the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. Cub Scouting reinforces each of these ethical values.
All Cub Scouts participate in activities that are specifically designed to teach good character.
